Title: Lights Out
Description: For me, taking “the long way home” means starting on University Drive in Huntsville, Alabama, and ending at the new Kroger on Highway 72 in Madison, Alabama. I refer to this stretch of road as the “Who’s Who Highway” because of its endless line of big-box stores and fast-food outlets.
One night while driving down this road, I noticed a partially lit Hooters sign that humorously read “Ters.” I found it so amusing that I took a photograph of it. Since then, the idea of capturing malfunctioning LED and neon signs has intrigued me.
Now, every once in a while, I drive down this strip to see if any lights are out. I have to say, the Who’s Who Highway never fails to have a light or two that is out. It has become a sort of treasure hunt for me.
